Nurse Aids and Personal Care Aids


Since the inception of the Nurse Aid & Personal Care Aid National Apprenticeship Program in September of 2018, WCAHEC has placed registered apprentices at more than 27 different Mesa County employers that include assisted living and transitional rehabilitation facilities, home health care agencies and hospitals. The apprenticeship is a year-long commitment to healthcare excellence and those who complete the program received their National Certificate of Completion through the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Apprenticeship. This national certificate is recognized in all 50 states.

AHEC Scholars prepares new health professionals to serve rural and urban under-served populations. Committing to a minimum of 40 hours of experiential training and an additional 40 hours of health education over the course of one year, AHEC Scholars are better prepared to ensure every Coloradan has the opportunity to attain their full and best health regardless of where they live.
